*** IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT BELOW - UPDATED JUNE 3, 2013 ***

Hello there,

First of all, I'd like to officially introduce myself. My name is Cameron Paris, 22 - and I am a self taught graphic designer who has created multiple working websites, logos, t-shirts, business cards, animated shorts and more. I am addicted to making art on the computer, with markers, and several other techniques. I love helping people find their inner imaginations. But this task is something I cannot do alone, nor is the one I am about to present to you.

For the next couple months, I am asking you all to donate pieces of your art to the '#Marker-Madness 2013 Artbook'. The Artbook will consist of marker pieces completed by you as you will be credited in the Artbook. It doesn't matter when the piece was created, as long as it was created by you. As many as two submissions per artist, a page in the Artbook will feature your works with a space where you can write a personal bio about how marker art has affected your creativity, or how you first got into making art with markers.

Our sole focus with this Artbook is markers. In this day and age, I feel marker art is more important than ever. The digital era is stomping most traditional techniques - featuring options that mock markers & other popular art supplies through brushes. We need to come together as marker artists, and show the community that marker art is worth the patience and practice just as any other technique is worth. Coming together to talk about our art is one of the only ways to do this. The other way is when we come together to make something to show others. This is where you come in.

I will be making a Kickstarter once we reach 100 marker submissions.
We will only be accepting 130 submissions, so be sure to submit NOW to reserve your spot! We're at 51 so far!

:bulletred: To submit, simply link your art piece(s) below, and be sure to include your bio/first experience with markers. If you don't want to include anything with your submission simply leave it blank.

:bulletorange: Include your real name & your real age. If you do not, we will simply include you as anonymous.

:bulletyellow: To help support the Artbook in more than one way, please donate :points:'s to blaaaaakk (my personal account) and I will be using the points to help make #Marker-Madness a Super Group.

:bulletgreen: Remember to chat in our MadnessMember Chatroom!

:bulletblue: Stay active within the group. Spread the word to others who you think would join. We need everyone we can get!

:bulletpurple: If you're on Facebook :facebook: please like us to receive instant updates!

:bulletpink: If you have any questions please don't hesitate. If you have ideas too, please message me! I am eager to hear what you have to say.

 I hope to see all your amazing art below this Journal. I thank you in advance for letting me use your work in this book.

Hi!

Like I promised here is my submissions. Could you check my language from errors. English isn't my first language. Sorry about that! (by the way about the submission. Aren't you going to get all these art files in big resolution and CMYK colours? Because that's highly recomented when going to print them in book form. Otherwise they will be blurry and colours could look wrong... )

Real name: Anna Hämäläinen
Artist name: Nanaya
Age: 17.12.1991
Brand: Chiringo
Website: www.chiringo.fi
Country: Finland

I'm young graphic designer from Finland and I'm offering large scale of professional graphic design services and creative products. I have worked in Finland's biggest music festivals etc.
I like to works in many styles and materials. Markers are one of my favorites in traditional media. I mainly use Copic markers to create my manga illustrations. I love how markers make pictures bright and colorful. I have used markers almost as long as I have created things (which started so early in my childhood that I can't even remember the start).

R.I.P World's end is cover picture for my newest novel comic called R.I.P (Reaper is the peace-giver). I wanted to draw the main character, Death girl, very boldly stand in the world that is collapsing. The world presents humans' subconscious. The story is battle against life from death's standing point.

Orange world is one of my illustrations about my manga, Gin Shinju. Kiyoko is one of the main characters and has very energetic and fun personality what I wanted to present in this illustrations with bright and warm colours.

Hey, I heard you were still open for submissions. Here's my marker drawing:
Creation of Love by GosterMonster

Name: Ilana T. Lidagoster
Age: 20

I first started illustrating with markers in high school; I used to watch lots of speed-drawings and tutorials on YouTube, and would later develop some color techniques of my own along the way. When I started college, all my studio professors would tell me not to use markers because they were "unprofessional materials". So for a while I left copic markers and tried other mediums, like charcoal, acrylic and oil paint, pastels and watercolor. And that exposure to different materials definitely helped my develop this new style of marker drawing I've been tinkering with lately; where I make a finished piece read more "finished illustration" than "marker illustration". I've been experimenting with creating new textures and polishing pieces, so that when I present them people are amazed (if a bit confused) when I tell them I used markers. It really goes to show, it's not so much about which material you used, but how you execute your work. (Sometimes a pro armed with a rock is better than a rookie armed with a gun.)

Thank you for your consideration.

Still accepting, I hope? :D well, if so here's one I'd like to share:

taylorhatake.deviantart.com/ar… <— that is my original character, Taylor Hatake, but for an anime I watch. In this picture, it's just her in her outfit...If that's acceptable, feel free to use this one = ) If not, I'll look for something else. That's just a note for you, the creator of this project = )

Taylor K. Owen; age 15

I've been drawing ever since I could pick up a pencil and do stuff. For years, I experimented with different coloring mediums, never really being satisfied with a medium so I'd go onto another. I went back-and-forth with crayons, colored pencils and markers, mostly using crayola stuff. Then, for about two years before now, I used Prismacolor pencils but I found myself not using them in the way I wanted, and I couldn't manage to improve using them. Then, in January of 2014, I found myself wanting Copic markers, and ever since I've been collecting them and using them. It's hard to collect, since they're so expensive and I don't get much in the way of an allowance, but I'm cool with it. When I use these markers, I feel like a realy manga artist, which is why I like them.

Hello c: I just joined this group. I think it's awesome, and I LOVE using markers <3

So here are two of my marker artworks:

My Protector by RunsOnPixiStix Fanciful Dresses and Whimsical Books by RunsOnPixiStix

I can send you the high-resolution files if you'd like? I scan them at 300 dpi. Please let me know where I can send them.

Name: Monique Wiegand

Age: 18

I've been drawing ever since I can remember, and along the way, experimenting with as many different media as I possibly can. My favorites have always been traditional media. There's just something about putting a pencil to paper and watching a blank sheet come to life before my eyes that holds a certain amount of magic that digital media could never live up to. I recently started playing with markers in between projects - and before I knew it, I was hooked. Markers are just so much fun and versatile! I don't think I'll be putting them down anytime soon.

Enrica Angiolini A.K.A. Eren (or Eeren on deviantART), 25 years old, Italy.
I fell in love with drawing when I was a little child and traditional medias where of course my first approach to art. I loved crayons and markers, and since my parents worked in graphic design we had a whole bag full of copics, even of the old kind. I adored them, but I only understood their true beauty later on, during my last years of High School when I first tried the "new generation" of copics and I went crazy for them. When I went to live in Japan for 3 months -nearly 4 years ago- I saved some of my salary money to buy all the copics I could! Thanks for reading and viewing my work! <3 CIAO!

Drawing has always been a passion of mine, and copics were something I had thought for a long time. Though they were quite expensive, I never regret getting them. It has been 2 years since I bought them, and they still are one of my favourite way of coloring. I wish to become a mangaka when I'm older, and Arina Tanemura is my favourite mangaka! These 2 works feature a boy and a girl, and are quite different in styles. I must admit, I prefer drawing girls, haha! Oh yea, these illustrations are Misfortune and Shreded. Try quessing which is which!
Thank you for viewing my art!

The markers were bought for me 2 years ago, for christmas and I have been using them since. I draw manga/anime in my free time but for school I have to draw realism. I believe I'm highly influenced by Disney and Hiyao Miyazaki with a twist of my own style.

I've been using Promarkers for almost a year now. My goal is to become a mangaka, and I started to investigate the colour spreads the manga artists made near fall 2012. Actually, most of them (if not all) use Copic markers, but those are too expensive for me, so when I visited the local big art shop in October, I found Promarkers and got myself 6 to start. In addition, there was a special offer so they were much cheaper than normal! My twin sister and I got new markers for christmas, and again for our birthday. Even though I have them for almost a year, I only started to understand how to use markers correctly not even half a year ago... My sister was a lot quicker to pick it up.
I just want to say, I really adore these markers and I hope you enjoy my drawings!

Hello! Fantastic idea for a book. I have been considering to do one myself for a long while but never have time.

Here is my bio:

Anne O'Konski, 36, Minnesota, USA

I think I came into this world with a paint brush in my hand. I have always been into art since I was young. I graduated from the Art Institute of Minneapolis with a degree in Computer Art and Animation. I have since then worked as a graphic designer, art director, and now I work as a User Interface Designer. Art and design has been my focus of career for 15 years. On the side I have done a lot of children's book and greeting card illustration. I create my artwork digitally or traditionally, but I prefer traditionally using Copic, Prismacolor and Derwent Colored Pencils. Most of my creations have a whimsical storybook illustrative feel to them.

Please find my submissions:

If you are needing any help, please do not hesitate to let me know. I have years of experience in print. Good luck with the endeavor.

I was quite the anime fanatic in my early teen years. I watched several anime shows, and read several mangas. I really got drawn to the art styles from the shows and mangas I read and started drawing my own pieces. I then managed to land my hands on some prismacolor markers. I had never used them before, but always had been intrigued by them. I gave it a go, how did it turn out? Perfectly. It's like the marker was an extension of my hand. It felt like I was a natural. I got more and more into drawing with them, and bought myself a 52 Copic marker set. I fell in love again. From time to time, I still enjoy drawing with them. I'm primarily a graphite artist, but a marker feels like a way I can paint without straying too far from a pencil.

Here, there I lay as the deformed creature that transcends in the realms of traditional media known through the eyes of possession. I've come to unveil various mediums in my work that elude the minds of majestic dance at sights witnessed. From blood, earth, ashes, paint, fruits, markers, and all much more; for it is I, the forgotten disturbance allowing dance upon and through experimentation seen through the human presence. Most of my images of variation contain three themes at notice: The illusion of insanity, the billowing misery, and the rather obtruding shattered paradigm of deformity. I've been conducting such images for years and through truth fair creatures, it would be a honor for such images to be in such book known in noticed reality presented. My friends,...Thank you for your time.

I have always wanted to use traditional media, my friend gave me a few copics and a few prisma colour markers a few years ago and I fell in love with them and vowed to get them wehn I get a job or get some money to get some. This year I was finally able to start my marker journey by being able to grow my markers and other media. I like trying out different markers brands  as well as paper. A lot of people say oh this is the best, without even trying different brands, but I want to check out the different effects for myself and see if they work for me. Because what someone dislikes, I could like and vise versa. It took some getting used to because I used digital media before I could afford markers but I have a good idea. I really love using markers and I really hope to gain more experience in them. I also use other types of traditional media like coloured pencils, and watercolours and I have really come to love traditional media, in all forms.

Here are my enteries:
I tried to resize the Apple Picking Picture, however I could give you the original formats if it’s too odd looking.

Kim Duong, 19. I started using markers when I was about 15 and it was the first time I have ever used color on my illustrations.
Before I was afraid of using even colored pencils to color my work but as soon as I held my first marker, I couldn't get enough of
the feeling. I loved how you could easily blend colors and the endless possibilities you can do with them such as make cool textures
using alcohol wit salt or infusing two different colors to manipulate a 'digital' look like 'Overlay' on photoshop. It's also how I became
active during some years on dA because I loved seeing how other people use markers and I still do.
I don't know why, but marker works inspire me the most! :)
